Don’t wait. Automate.

Small technological solutions can make a big difference to your quality of life, so when considering every aspect of your business ask yourself, “can I automate that?”

It’s a familiar situation for small business owners and sole traders. You’re working all day, every day, getting in all the administrative tasks after-hours, so much so that your personal life is suffering.

But your professional success should not come at the cost of your personal success.

There is good news though.  There is a middle ground.  A place where the extra work gets done, but not by you or by expensive human resources.

It can be automated.

The idea of ‘automation’ conjures images of armies of robot workers, but, thanks to massive strides forward in software technologies, automation includes a range of technical solutions that can save you time, effort and, most importantly, money.

The best example of this is your online marketing via social media such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. There are many different systems that now allow you to schedule your posts and blogs ahead of time.  This gives you that time back to engage with potential clients online in real time without you having to also manage complex sequencing of posts and blogs while also doing your active marketing.

The same goes for projects. This way you can schedule your marketing ahead of time and see to your clients’ needs while your marketing grows your client base.

Automation extends across other time killers as well: collaborative software programmes such as Google Docs allow you to work with colleagues and clients to quickly come to solutions, fix errors and finalise documents.

Small technological solutions can make a big difference to your quality of life, so when considering every aspect of your business ask yourself, “can I automate that?”
